Utilisation de phenomenes de croissance pour la generation de formes en synthese d'images
The modeling of natural shapes stays a hot topic to improve
the realism in computer graphics. The complexity of these shapes is
often hard to model with standard geometric tools and it can be very
tedious for the CG artist. Growing phenomena are widely present in
the nature. They usually generate complex shapes, even if the mechanics
are simple. In most cases, modeling such shapes with physical simulators
is not convenient because it is hard to control the result.
In this thesis we propose a new kind of modeler (based on a growing
surface) to generate growing shapes. The modeler has a set of controls
on the resulted shape, and it is not limited to simulations of natural
phenomena: you can interactively add details (e.g. folds, blisters or
branches) to a surface.
