- All Implemented Interfaces:
- Accessible, ImageObserver, ItemSelectable, MenuContainer, Serializable, SwingConstants
- Direct Known Subclasses:
- MetalScrollButton
- public class BasicArrowButton
- extends JButton
- implements SwingConstants
JButton object that draws a scaled Arrow in one of the cardinal directions.
Warning:
Serialized objects of this class will not be compatible with
future Swing releases. The current serialization support is appropriate
for short term storage or RMI between applications running the same
version of Swing. A future release of Swing will provide support for
long term persistence.

direction
protected int direction
BasicArrowButton
public BasicArrowButton(int direction)
getDirection
public int getDirection()
setDirection
public void setDirection(int dir)
paint
public void paint(Graphics g)
- Description copied from class:
JComponent
- This method is invoked by Swing to draw components.
Applications should not invoke paint directly,
but should instead use the
repaint
method to
schedule the component for redrawing.
This method actually delegates the work of painting to three
protected methods: paintComponent
, paintBorder
,
and paintChildren
. They're called in the order
listed to ensure that children appear on top of component itself.
Generally speaking, the component and its children should not
paint in the insets area allocated to the border. Subclasses can
just override this method, as always. A subclass that just
wants to specialize the UI (look and feel) delegate's paint
method should just override paintComponent
.
- Overrides:
paint
in class JComponent
- Following copied from class:
javax.swing.JComponent
- See Also:
JComponent.paintComponent(java.awt.Graphics)
,
JComponent.paintBorder(java.awt.Graphics)

JComponent.getComponentGraphics(java.awt.Graphics)
,
JComponent.repaint(long, int, int, int, int)
getPreferredSize
public Dimension getPreferredSize()
- Description copied from class:
JComponent
- If the preferredSize has been set to a non-null value
just returns it. If the UI delegate's getPreferredSize()
method returns a non null value then return that; otherwise
defer to the component's layout manager.
- Overrides:
getPreferredSize
in class JComponent
- Following copied from class:
javax.swing.JComponent
- Returns:
- the value of the preferredSize property
- See Also:
JComponent.setPreferredSize(java.awt.Dimension)
getMinimumSize
public Dimension getMinimumSize()
- Description copied from class:
JComponent
- If the minimum size has been set to a non-null value
just returns it. If the UI delegate's getMinimumSize()
method returns a non-null value then return that; otherwise
defer to the component's layout manager.
- Overrides:
getMinimumSize
in class JComponent
- Following copied from class:
javax.swing.JComponent
- Returns:
- the value of the minimumSize property
- See Also:
JComponent.setMinimumSize(java.awt.Dimension)
getMaximumSize
public Dimension getMaximumSize()
- Description copied from class:
JComponent
- If the maximum size has been set to a non-null value
just returns it. If the UI delegate's getMaximumSize()
method returns a non null value then return that; otherwise
defer to the component's layout manager.
- Overrides:
getMaximumSize
in class JComponent
- Following copied from class:
javax.swing.JComponent
- Returns:
- the value of the maximumSize property.
- See Also:
JComponent.setMaximumSize(java.awt.Dimension)
isFocusTraversable
public boolean isFocusTraversable()
- Description copied from class:
AbstractButton
- Identifies whether or not this component can receive the focus.
- Overrides:
isFocusTraversable
in class AbstractButton
- Following copied from class:
javax.swing.AbstractButton
- Returns:
- true if this component can receive the focus
paintTriangle
public void paintTriangle(Graphics g,
int x,
int y,
int size,
int direction,
boolean isEnabled)
